Rome LLP has filed suit on behalf of the world’s second largest domain name registrar, Namecheap, against ICANN for failing to implement a ruling it obtained through an Independent Review Process (IRP) as a means of protesting ICANN’s unilateral decision to remove price caps on .org and .info domain names.
The IRP Panel, in a 170-page ruling, determined that ICANN did indeed violate its articles and bylaws and presented directions and recommendations for corrective action. However, ICANN failed to implement the IRP Panel’s directions and recommendations.
