She has secured multimillion-dollar recoveries for plaintiffs and successfully defended executives, financial institutions, technology companies, and other businesses in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings in state and federal courts and in arbitration forums throughout California and across the country.
Ms. Ganesan has extensive experience handling complex business and intellectual property disputes, including matters involving trademark infringement, trade dress, copyright infringement, trade secrets, patent-related claims, and violations of the Lanham Act. She has successfully represented technology companies, online platforms, artists, and businesses in disputes involving digital content, brand protection, and online enforcement. Her successes include defending a highly trafficked user-generated content website against enforcement efforts involving the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and obtaining a preliminary injunction on behalf of an artist management company to prevent the unauthorized sale of copyrighted artwork by a celebrity artist.
In addition to her intellectual property practice, Ms. Ganesan represents executives, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals in Internet-related litigation, including defamation matters and litigation strategies designed to identify anonymous online actors and remove false and damaging online content. She has also represented finance industry clients in a wide range of litigation matters involving state and federal statutory claims, business torts, and common law causes of action.
Ms. Ganesan is admitted to practice before all California state courts, the United States District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. Ms. Ganesan earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2001 and her B.A. from Pomona College in 1996. Her honors and achievements include participation in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, recognition as a Scott Moot Court Semi-Finalist, and placement on the Dean’s Honors List. Ms. Ganesan is a former Board member of the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) as well as a founding member of the SABA Public Interest Foundation.
